Our Boarders
The Selwyn House Boarding House is an integral part of the school and is named after Somers Cox, a former chairman of the Trust Board.
Our boarders come from all over the world and add another dimension to the school. Giving young girls a balanced upbringing in a safe, family environment is our main priority.
Boarding options vary to meet the needs of the boarders and their families, whether on a full-time basis, weekly for the girls who can travel home in the weekends or short-term. If vacancies are available, daygirls are also able to board if their parents are going away and they thoroughly enjoy the experience of 'sleeping over' within the school grounds.
The girls develop a sense of camaraderie and can make life-long friends. They learn how to live in a community where one has to be aware of the needs of others, developing self-confidence, independence, adaptability and responsibility.
With the added advantage of evening and weekend access to all the school's facilities, the weekends focus on making the atmosphere fun and relaxing. The Boarding House managers are family people and take full responsibility for the girls' welfare and safety at all times. They all enjoy being with young people and relate well to them.
